At Twisted Equine, our team brings together years of experience in training, rehabilitation, and horsemanship. We are united by a shared commitment to thoughtful, horse-centred care and the development of confident, capable riders.
Owner, Head Trainer & Coach
Julia Mason
Julia's background spans Eventing up to Preliminary and Jumpers to 1.30m internationally with great success. Her main focus on backing young horses, restarting OTTBs, training and sales, and working with riders who carry anxiety, nerves, or a lack of confidence. She creates positive, supportive environments where both horse and rider can grow. She has managed some of Canada's and the United States' top FEI horses and world class facilities, bringing that same standard of excellence to Twisted Equine. Above all, Julia cares deeply about doing right by every horse in her care, regardless of the goal.

Kassaundra Dobson
Kassaundra has been around horses her entire life — and that lifelong connection is exactly what drives her. After years of searching for a barn that truly delivers the standard of care these animals deserve, she stopped looking and started building. At Twisted Equine, she oversees the day-to-day success of the facility, ensuring every horse in the program receives the highest quality care without compromise. Determined, motivated, and deeply invested in raising the bar for the industry, Kassaundra is the backbone of what makes this place run.
Barn Manager & Groundskeeper
Zac Taoum
Zac is the heartbeat of the barn. As Barn Manager and Groundskeeper, he is responsible for the daily care of every horse at Twisted Equine. The chores, the routines, the small details that add up to horses that are genuinely happy and healthy. More than anyone, Zac has unlimited hands-on time with these animals, and he takes that responsibility seriously. Getting to know each horse as an individual isn't just something he does, it's something he requires of himself. His love for them shows in every act of service, every single day. Zac brings a strong international background to the role, having cared for horses in his home country of Barbados and across Ontario, Canada. He is excited to bring that wealth of experience and his deep passion for the animals to Twisted Equine.
